Media Invitation: Inspection of Festive Season police Operations continues in Cape Town

WESTERN CAPE - The Minister of Police, General Bheki Cele will on Thursday, 22 December 2022, lead the annual Festive Season Inspection Roadshow in Cape Town in the Western Cape province.

The visit forms part of efforts by the South African Police Service (SAPS), to channel resources to areas where they are most needed.

The policing interventions will enable the police to decisively deal with crime and any security threats this holiday season and beyond.

Under the theme, “More boots on the ground towards enhanced police visibility,” the Ministry together with the SAPS management team from national and the province, led by National Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola and the Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General, Thembisile Patekile, will assess the effectiveness of the SAPS' Safer Festive Season operational plans put in place, to ensure the well-being and safety of all residents and tourists in the country, during the holiday period.

The Western Cape leg of the Roadshow will include visits to malls, taxi ranks, multi-disciplinary roadblocks and beaches where shoppers, commuters and holidaymakers will be engaged on safety aspects during the holiday season and beyond.
