Tomorrow, 27 August 2021, Western Cape MEC of Human Settlements, Tertuis Simmers will hand over 7 Financed Linked Individual Subsidy Programme (FLISP) homes to residents who recently acquired their properties in the Conifers/Malibu area.
These homes form part of the 269 FLISP units that have been constructed in the area, targeting those households with an income between R 3 501 – R 22 000. The combined FLISP subsidy that was received by the 7 beneficiaries amounts to R 570 524. To date, 186 residents have already acquired homes in the area.
MEC Simmers said: “These handovers are of great significance, as it is addressing our aim to ensure that those who do not qualify for a fully state subsidised house are still assisted by the state, through a different subsidy, which is FLISP. I am looking forward to meeting these beneficiaries and to share in their moment of joy.
This once again shows how the Western Cape Government is assisting the residents of this province.”
There will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs.
Members of the media are advised of the meeting point below, which is also the first house that will be handed over. From there we’ll proceed to the homes of the other beneficiaries.
