MEC Tertuis Simmers hands over first units in the Mountain View Project in Mossel Bay, 27 Oct

MEC Simmers to handover first units in the Mountain View Project in Mossel Bay

With the festive season fast approaching, on Thursday 27 October, the Provincial MEC of Infrastructure Tertuis Simmers, will visit the road construction site of the Maalgate bridge, in George. Known for its beautiful aesthetics the Garden Route is one of the country’s main tourist attraction regions. The Maalgate bridge is a significant contributor, as it serves as an alternative route between Mossel Bay and George. This will be followed by the handover of the first houses at the Mountain View Housing project under the MEC’s social infrastructure component.

Speaking ahead of the visit Simmers said: “the Maalgate bridge is a key interlink roadway between the towns and major contributor in traffic volumes. We anticipate seeing an increase in traffic volumes during the festive season. The widening of the road we will not only allow for easier flow but also a safer usage of the passage. On the Mountain View Housing Project I am excited to finally handover the first batch of units at the landmark project, as we continue to restore the dignity and hope of the Western Cape citizens”.
