Minister Simmers to deliver keynote address at contractor development training at Lawaaikamp in George
On Friday, 12 November, the Western Cape Minister of Human Settlements Tertuis Simmers, will deliver a keynote address at the Contractor Development training, at the Lawaaikamp Community Hall in George.
The Youth and Contractor development program is an initiative of the Western Cape Department of Human Settlements, aimed at promoting the active participation of young people between the ages of 18 and 35 in the Built Environment, as a skills development program. This is done together with the Emerging Contractor development training, that is aimed at empowering emerging contractors, by providing technical training, finance for non-financial managers, project management and construction management.
Minister Simmers said: “The empowerment and upskilling of Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMME) particularly where our young women and men are involved is a key priority for the Western Cape Department of Human Settlements. This ensures that where employment and subcontractor opportunities arise these SMME’s will be equipped with the necessary qualification and skills to participate. I am looking forward to engaging this group of young people tomorrow”.
All media are invited to attend.
