Pretoria: Deputy President Paul Mashatile will address the annual National Economic Development and Labour Council (Nedlac) Organised Labour School on Tuesday, 21 January 2025. The event is set to be held at Kievits Kroon, Gauteng, starting at 9 am, under the theme: ‘Building unity of workers to defend labour rights and advance decent work for all’.

According to South African Government News Agency, the Nedlac Organised Labour School is an annual event aimed at assessing the current state of the labour market and the challenges faced by workers in the country. This year’s gathering will see participation from delegations representing various labour federations, guests from the International Labour Organisation, and representatives from government departments.

Nedlac serves as a platform for cooperation among government, labour, business, and community organisations, focusing on problem-solving and negotiation concerning economic, labour, and development challenges facing South Africa. The upcoming address by Deputy President Mashatile is anticipated to highlight these issues and explore potential solutions through collaborative efforts.
