Manhunt underway for armed suspects who robbed a construction company in Motetema

A manhunt is underway for a group of armed suspects who allegedly robbed a construction company situated in Tafelkop in Motetema policing area, Sekhukhune District, on Tuesday, 10 September 2024, at approximately 20:00.

Preliminary reports indicate that a security officer was accosted by approximately eight suspects at gunpoint. The suspects tied up the security officer and other construction employees and placed them in a structure within the premises.

The victims managed to free themselves, and upon doing so, discovered that the suspects had stolen items such as trucks’ batteries, spare wheels, and diesel. They also robbed them of their cellphones.

No shots were fired during the incident. A case of business robbery has been opened, and the investigation is ongoing.
