Manhunt launched for suspects following robbery in Virginia

VIRGINIA - Three security officers were overpowered and robbed of copper cable worth about R2 million at gunpoint.

On 14 June 2022 at about 04:30, three security officers were posted in Virginia Sewerage Main Plant number 1, next to Virginia Correctional Services. Twenty unknown suspects overpowered the security officers and fired two shots. They also took the two cartridges from the ground. Copper cable was robbed from the business premises.

As a result of the armed robbery and the destruction of the infrastructure, the sewerage water is running back to the river.
