A Toyota Quantum of a security company was attacked and two firearms were robbed, Police are on the lookout for suspects.

On 5 April 2022 at about 23:30 the Virginia SAPS members were informed of a shootout and a Business Robbery at Harmony Central Plant mine. Apparently seven armed robbers attempted to hijack a Toyota Quantum driven by security personnel while patrolling outside the mine premises. There were a number of security personnel inside the said vehicle. While officers were busy patrolling the mine premises, they were attacked by unknown suspects and a shootout ensued between them and the suspects. No one got injured as a result of the shooting.

The suspects managed to rob the security officers a rifle and 9mm pistol and drove off with unknown vehicles.
