A 50-year-old man is in a critical condition at the Nankudu District Hospital after two men reportedly slit his throat with an okapi knife on Saturday. The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Kavango West Region in a weekend crime report on Sunday said the incident happened at Maporeza location in Nkurenkuru at 20h00. It is alleged that the victim was found alone at his homestead when two suspects allegedly slit his throat with an okapi knife before they fled the scene. The motive behind the crime is not known but one of the suspects is reportedly known to the victim. Both suspects have not yet been arrested. In an unrelated incident also at Nkurenkuru, a 23-year-old man was arrested on Friday after he allegedly raped a-20-year old woman. It is alleged that the incident happened at around 02h00 when the suspect dragged the victim into the bushes behind Woermann Brock shop and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent. The suspect is expected to appear in the Kahenge Magistrate's Court on Mon day. Police investigations into both matters continue. Source: The Namibia Press Agency
