DURBAN - Police officers from the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit continue with their core mandate to remove drugs from our streets. This was followed by an operation that was conducted last night in the Greenwood Park policing area.
The team acted on information about a vehicle that was transporting drugs. Intense patrols and observations were conducted which led to the identification of a vehicle that was seen at the corner of Prince Mhlangana Road and Nandi Drive. The vehicle was intercepted and upon searching the vehicle police found 53 large moons of rock cocaine and cocaine powder.
The recovered drugs are valued at R147 000-00. A 48-year-old suspect was arrested for possession and dealing in drugs. The suspect is appearing before the Durban Magistrate's Court today.
