Man killed after threatening to kill a police officer at Eenhana

A 43-year-old man was reportedly shot and killed by members of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) at Eenhana after he allegedly threatened to kill a police who was attempting to arrest him.

The deceased, Laurence Kapule Ndaoya, allegedly cut the throat and neck of his 31-year-old girlfriend, Eva Leena Kalimbo, on Sunday morning and fled the scene, but was later tracked down by the police.

A weekend crime report by NamPol on Sunday indicated that Ndaoya went on to stab Kalimbo with a sharp object, causing her death.

“It is alleged that the deceased was shot and died during an attempt to arrest him by the members of the police,” read the report.

He was shot and declared dead on the scene by the ambulance personnel.

His next of kin were informed and police investigations continue.

This was confirmed by the police, saying the incident occurred around 03h19.
