The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Omusati Region have arrested a man at Outapi on Friday, for being in possession of five grams of skunk valued at N.dollars 250.
NamPol in its weekend crime report on Sunday indicated that the suspect was arrested at around 10h23 at Oshikulufitu village and was to appear before the Outapi Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
In a similar incident, a 22-year-old suspect was found in possession of drugs worth N.dollars 9 200 at Strampriet in the Hardap Region on Friday.
The suspect, it said was arrested after he was found with 57 full Mandrax tablets, a half Mandrax tablet and cash of N.dollars 2 060 during a police search.
An 18-year-old boy was also found in possession of 14 ballies of cannabis in Katara village in the Kavango West Region of which the value and weight were yet to be determined.
The suspect was arrested around 07h00.
Another male suspect was arrested after being found in possession of illicit products on Friday at Outjo’s Etoshapoort.
The products include 15 packs of Best whiskey valued at N.dollars 1 500 and 25 packs of Yes cigarettes valued at N.dollars 5 000 confiscated during a police operation.
The suspect will appear on Monday in the Outjo Magistrate’s Court.
Meanwhile, other suspects were found with 298 planks of timber valued at N.dollars 44 700 at Mururani on Friday.
It is alleged that the suspects harvested the timber and after processing it, transported the planks in a vehicle without a permit.
The property has been recovered and no arrests have been made yet, the police report concluded.
Police investigations in all matters continue.
