The lifeless body of Uugwanga Paulus, 35, was found in bushes on Friday at Olumpelengwa village in Okahao, the weekend crime report indicated.
The report availed here Sunday by the Namibian Police Force, said that Paulus’s body was allegedly discovered by cattle herders around 14h00 while they were looking for missing goats in the area and immediately informed the police at Uutsathima.
The deceased was originally from Oshilulu village in the Okahao Constituency and his body was transported to Okahao Police mortuary for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
The deceased’s next of kin have been notified, the report added.
Also on Friday, at Onambungulu village in Okatope, 48-year-old Johanna Wilbard died on the spot after allegedly swallowing meat. She died around 15h11 due to a piece of meat that was found stuck in her airway, a medical doctor at the Onandjokwe State Hospital mortuary reported after an autopsy.
The deceased’s next of kin have been notified, the police said.
In another incident, a 39-year-old fisherman died after a wire broke on a hook while he was pulling a rope and it hit him behind his head while on-board a fishing vessel around 14h00 on Friday at Lüderitz.
The police said the incident happened at a fishing area 58nm from Lüderitz port and the man was declared dead by a nurse at around 22h30.
His name was withheld as his next of kin was yet to be informed.
Police investigations in the incidents are underway.
