A 48-year-old man at Okakarara burned to death on Monday morning after a shack he was sleeping in caught fire.
Namibian Police Force head of community affairs in the Otjozondjupa Region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha in an interview with Nampa on Monday said the deceased was identified as Henock Tjitjahi, and his close relatives were informed of his death.
Mbeha said the incident allegedly happened at the Okakango location at the town Monday at 01h00.
Preliminary police investigations indicate the deceased was alone inside the shack before it burned down, she said.
It is however not established as to what caused the fire that killed him, she said.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
