Man arrested for house robbery

The Acting Station Commander of Upington Colonel Gert Jobs lauded the members for a swift response to a house robbery case, securing the arrest of a 31-year old man.

 

It is alleged that a 36-year-old woman was alone at home on Sunday, 03 October 2021 at about 11:30 when the suspect entered her residence. He tied her up and robbed her of cash and jewellery.

 

The police were alerted about the incident and responded immediately. Upon arrival the suspect had already fled the scene, however the police launched a manhunt in the vicinity.

 

The suspect was found hiding few houses from the crime scene and preliminary investigations revealed that he could be linked to other burglaries in the area.

 

The suspect is in police custody and will soon appear in court.
