NELSPRUIT – The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has welcomed the arrest of a 32-year-old man today, Wednesday 16 February 2022 for dealing in dagga.
His arrest comes after members of the SAPS from Secunda Flying Squad stopped a grey Audi A3 Hatchback, with one male occupant. The astute members then searched the said vehicle, where they discovered two bags of dagga at the boot of the car. The recovered dagga is estimated to worth about R100 000 in street value and the man was immediately arrested and charged accordingly. The vehicle, which is said to be of his wife was seized as police believe it was used in the commission of crime.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Balfour Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 17 February 2022 facing a charge of dealing in dagga. More charges may be added against the suspect as the investigation continues.
