Bloemhof Police apprehended on Saturday, 23 October 2021, a 21-year-old man in connection with the alleged murder of 22-year-old victim.
The suspect’s apprehension came after he allegedly stabbed the victim to death at Boitumelong Township in Bloemhof on Friday, 22 October 2021. According to information at our disposal, the suspect saw a man walking with his girlfriend and accused the girlfriend of cheating. It is alleged that the suspect was not aware the man was his girlfriend’s cousin, and fight ensued between the victim and the suspect.
The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim with a knife on the chest and fled the scene. Police were summoned to the scene where the victim was found dead. The suspect was successfully traced and arrested on Saturday morning. He is expected to appear at the Bloemhof Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 25 October 2021, for murder. Investigation into the matter continues.
The District Commissioner of Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati, Brigadier Tshenolo Tlotleng lauded Bloemhof detectives for tracing and arresting the suspect.
