CAPE TOWN – A 25-year-old male was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Manenberg yesterday. Members of the Maitland Flying Squad searched a house in the area and discovered a 9mm pistol with ammunition. The firearm was seized and the male was detained at Manenberg SAPS.

The suspect will appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 05 December 2022.

This morning, the members recovered a hijacked vehicle and a firearm in Browns Farm, Philippi. Two suspects aged 28 and 40 were arrested for possession of a hijacked vehicle and possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition.

The suspects will make their court appearance in Athlone on Monday, 05 December 2022.
