Maake Police embarked on an awareness walk in support of 16 Days of Activism

MAAKE – The Police in Maake outside Tzaneen in Mopani District have today conducted an awareness Campaign at Lenyenye Township in the Maake Policing area. The Campaign started with a five kilometres Fun walk from Lenyenye Total Garage to Lenyenye Community Hall.

The Campaign was led by Maake Sector Commander Sergeant Ndendani accompanied by Station Communication Officer Sergeant Shikwambane , Social Crime Prevention Coordinator Sergeant Patji,  Dr Masetla, Rev Molifi, Mrs Mabitsela and Community Members around Lenyenye.

The following topics were addressed during the Campaign.

  • Gender-based violence
  • Public violence
  • Mob justice
  • Sexual offences
  • Buying stolen goods
  • Stock theft
  • Sharing stokvel groceries and Money
  • ATM’S Scams
  • Fraud cases
  • Drug and substance abuse.

About 200 pamphlets containing crime prevention information about Gender-Based Violence and Femicide were distributed

In conclusion the Station contact numbers, Community Service Centre were provided to the Community.
