WESTERN CAPE – The Western Cape crime initiative, Lockdown II is making headway in disarming criminals this festive season. Yesterday the members of Lockdown II reacted on intelligence and conducted several search operations at identified premises.
In Ukozi Street Extension 3 Mfuleni, a suspect was arrested for possession of a prohibited firearm and four rounds of ammunition. In Inciniba Street, also in Mfuleni, a suspect was arrested after he was caught in possession of suspected stolen property and an imitation firearm. A flat screen television set, a hand radio, a SAPS uniform shirt and an imitation firearm, suspected to have been used in the commission of a crime were confiscated. In Delft, the members arrested a suspect for possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol and 23 rounds of ammunition.
Once the suspects have been charged, they are expected to make their respective court appearances in Blue Downs to face the charges against them.
