HEILBRON – Ronaldo Sithole (25) was convicted and sentenced to two years’ imprisonment by the Heilbron Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 15 June 2022.
Ronaldo Sithole, who is a resident of Orange Farm in Gauteng Province, was sentenced following a complaint of 13 sheep reported stolen at Erfbank farm in Heilbron on Thursday, 23 December 2021. He was swiftly arrested later on the same day during an observation operation by members of Heilbron Stock Theft Unit and Endangered Species (STES) Unit. All 13 sheep belonging to the farm owner were found 10 km away from the farm, driven by the suspect. They were confiscated and handed back to the farm owner.
The suspected male appeared on Friday 24 December 2021 and he was denied bail. On Wednesday, 15 June 2022 during his appearance at Court, the accused pleaded guilty as charged.
His plea led to his two years sentence. One of the two years was suspended for five years. In addition, he was declared unfit to possession a firearm.
