DURBAN - On 30 August 2022, the Pietermaritzburg High Court convicted and sentenced Bokang Christopher Khasibe (51) for the murder of Qhamukile Makhaye (29). The sentence came after the court heard how Khasibe murdered Makhaye at her home.
On 21 June 2021 at 17:30, the deceased was at her home in Mathulini area at Nsuze with her mother and a child when the accused forced the door open. He grabbed the deceased and threw her on the bed without uttering a word, he stabbed her repeatedly in front of her family members. She sustained multiple stab wounds to the head, face, neck and chest. She was declared dead on the scene.
Nsuze police worked around the clock and the perpetrator was arrested on the next day. He made several appearances before court and he was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for murder.
