Nine teams will compete for the Kunene second division’s promotional play-off slots at the Etoshapoort sports field in Outjo on Saturday.

Bolla Nangombe, the league’s vice chairperson, told Nampa in an interview on Thursday Opuwo United, Hotspring Football Club, Grootberg United FC, Super Sports, Aweh United, Bush Lovers Football Association, and Six Computers Stars are among the nine teams vying for promotion to the KFL second division.

Nangombe said all promotional games will be played using a round-robin format, with three groups of three teams each.

“The competition’s format will consist of both rounds being played on a round-robin basis,” he explained.

The first round will comprise nine teams divided into three groups of three teams each. The winners of each group and the best runner-up from each group will advance to the final round.

Four teams will participate in the second round, including the group winners and the best runner-up, with only two clubs being promoted to the KFL. This arrangement was made possible due to the promotion of the league champions Outjo Football Academy to the North West First Division and the relegation of Revengers Football Club.
