Kirkwood police seek identity of deceased person

Detectives at SAPS Kirkwood are urgently seeking the community’s assistance in tracing the next of kin and the identity of a man whose remains was found lying on the roadside in Kirkwood on 2 October 2021.

 

According to police information on Saturday morning, at about 00:15, it is alleged that someone alerted the police about the injured person that was lying on the roadside in Newton Street, Moses Mabhida (Kirkwood).

 

At the scene, police found the body of a man, who is believed to be in his twenties, and was wearing a pair of blue jeans and a dark grey tracksuit top.   He had a stab wound in the upper body. The victim is unidentified and is an African male.  Police opened a case of murder for further investigation.
