WINDHOEK — Khomas NamPol Football Club has joined the PstBet family with a sponsorship deal worth N$900,000 over three years.
During the announcement on Tuesday, Nelson Heita, co-founder of PstBet, expressed the company’s commitment to the betterment of Namibia, particularly in empowering youth and improving sports. As per the sponsorship agreement, Khomas NamPol, the new entrants to the Debmarine Namibia Premiership, will receive N$300,000 per season for the next three years.
According to Namibia Press Agency (NAMPA), PstBet’s CEO, Steven Hamunyela, highlighted the partnership as a step towards diversifying sports in Namibia, emphasizing the company’s genuine passion for sports promotion, not just branding. Hamunyela also shared their objective to reinvigorate fan attendance at stadiums, collaborating closely with Khomas NamPol. The sponsorship aligns with PstBet’s existing support for the Eeshoke Chula Chula team.
Khomas NamPol’s Chairperson, Nikanor Ashipala, expressed gratitude for the sponsorship, noting its potential to boost player morale and showcase their talents. He assured that the funds would be used for their intended purpose. The sponsorship was also lauded by Robert Shimooshili, President of the Namibia Football Association (NFA), who commended PstBet for creating employment opportunities in sports and offering better incentives to athletes.
