Keetmanshoop Woman Subjected to Alleged Gang Rape

KEETMANSHOOP – The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) is actively investigating a reported case of gang rape involving a 30-year-old woman in the southern town of Keetmanshoop.

According to NAMPA, Deputy Commissioner Nikodemus Mbango, the incident reportedly occurred in the early hours between 03h00 and 05h00 on Saturday. The victim was on her way home from a local establishment when she was allegedly accosted by a group consisting of two women and five men. Under the threat of a knife, she was purportedly taken to a dilapidated building where her clothing was forcibly removed. Mbango detailed that the male suspects are accused of sexually assaulting the woman without her consent and photographing her. She was found unconscious, later regaining consciousness naked, and managed to return home. The identities of the suspects remain unknown as some had their faces covered. Police investigations are ongoing.
