Stakeholders in the Kavango West Region attended the annual regional forum meeting on the implementation of the National Anti – Corruption Strategy and Action Plan ( NACSAP ) at Nkurenkuru on Wednesday . The forum aims to ensure effective implementation of the strategy and action plan , which was launched in 2022 . Addressing the participants , Kavango West Governor Sirkka Ausiku urged residents of the region to strengthen their collective efforts to prevent corruption in the region , but to also avoid spreading rumours and reporting unverified claims . ‘ People must come up with evidence and have a background to make it easy for the Anti – Corruption Commission ( ACC ) to follow up on the cases reported to them ,’ the governor said . ACC Executive Director Tylvas Shilongo in a statement delivered on his behalf , stated that during the initial implementation year ( 2022 – 2023 ), 87 out of 95 actions were successfully executed . lus Lyambezi , meanwhile explained that the National Strategy and Action Plan for 2021 – 2025 serves as a governance tool for fostering broad – based citizen cooperation , engagement , and participation . It also continues to be used to engage citizens from all sectors of society in the prevention and combating of corruption . Highlighting the importance of the regional forum , Lyambezi said it is significant in the ongoing fight against corruption . He said people have the crucial role of turning the strategy goals into real solutions . ‘ You are not only our first line of defence against corruption , but also the champions of transparency ,’ Lyambezi said .
