NORTHERN CAPE – A 39-year-old Municipal official employed at Project Management Unit, Joe Morolong Municipality in Kuruman was arrested earlier today by the Hawk’s Serious Organised Crime Investigation team and Highway Patrol for alleged theft.

This follows a lengthy investigation by the team after a string of business burglaries at the municipality in 2019. During the burglaries, a number of laptops belonging to the municipality were stolen. At this stage, one laptop has been recovered.

The suspect is expected to make his first appearance at Mothibistad Magistrate court on Wednesday, 27 July 2022.
