Maake Police are investigating a case of murder and inquest following a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday night, 10 August 2024, at Thabine, Ga-Mmaphala Village.
Upon arrival, reaction officers found paramedics providing medical care to a 29-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, both with gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, the victims were certified dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigation suggests that a domestic altercation may have led to the incident. The Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has urged anyone experiencing domestic violence to seek help immediately.
The investigation is ongoing.
