a team consisting of the Welkom Anti-Gang Unit, Thabong CIG and Hennenman Detectives gathered information on wanted suspects after a shooting incident took place between the suspects and the police in Rosendal on Saturday, 31 August 2024. The information was operationalised and led the team to a house in Thabong. On arrival at the house, the police found one suspect who was in possession of two cellphones and one laptop belonging to the victim of a house robbery in Hennenman. The items were found inside a Maroon Volkswagen Golf, which was also seized.The suspect was arrested for possession of suspected stolen property. Thereafter, the team went to another house in Thabong, where a second suspect was apprehended after attempting to evade the police. The suspect was arrested for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and possession of suspected stolen property. The following items were seized: a Rossi revolver, different types of ammunition, a laptop and charger, an airgun, drivers lice nces, cellphones and cellphone chargers, computer mouse, car keys, gaming devices, a laptop bag and a holster. The suspect was confirmed as the one wanted in the Rosendal shooting incident.
