Integrated operation lands suspect behind bars for cultivating dagga

WESTERN CAPE – On 21 January 2022, information was received from our Air Wing of a possible dagga plantation in Endlovini area. Harare police located the premises in question and monitored the activities at the address.

On Thursday, 27 January 2022, SAPS together with Law Enforcement conducted an operation at the identified premises. During the operation 274 mature dagga plants were confiscated and a 32-year-old suspect was arrested and detained for Illegal cultivation of dagga.

The suspect is due to make his court appearance in Khayelitsha Magistrates court on Monday, 31 January 2022.

In an unrelated matter the vigilance by Table View police landed a 46-year-old male behind bars when he was arrested for the possession of crystal methamphetamine in Main Road, Parklands yesterday, 27 January 2022.

The members received information about a vehicle driving in the Parklands area, transporting crystal methamphetamine. A vehicle fitting the description was stopped and searched and two bags containing crystal meth were found hidden in a compartment under the steering wheel of the vehicle. The estimated street value of the drugs is about R15 000-00.

Once charged the suspect will make a court appearance in Cape Town Magistrates court on drug related charges.
