Pretoria: The Department of Health has announced that individuals traveling to South Africa from Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are required to complete a health questionnaire prior to their journey, in response to the Ebola virus outbreak.

According to South African Government News Agency, more than 2,000 confirmed cases and 800 deaths have been reported since the outbreak began in May. The Department of Health emphasized the necessity of the Travel Health Questionnaire (THQ) for all travelers from the DRC and Uganda due to the current Ebola Virus Disease outbreak in these regions.

The THQ aims to ensure smooth processing upon arrival in South Africa and can be completed up to 24 hours before travel. Travelers can access the questionnaire at https://porthealth.dhmis.org/travel/, as shared by the department on social media.
