Hawks members arrest a woman for dealing in illicit cigarettes

LIMPOPO – The Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation members have arrested a 30-year-old woman for dealing in illicit cigarettes and contravening the Immigration Act on Friday, 21 January 2022.

 

The Hawks received intelligence about illicit cigarettes that were allegedly sold at a certain house in Malale village outside Pafuri Border.

 

A multi-disciplinary operation comprising of the Hawks, Crime Intelligence and South African National Defence Force was conducted and boxes containing Remington Gold cigarettes with an estimated street value of R43 684.00 were found in the house and seized.

 

The suspect is expected to appear in the Musina Magistrate’s Court on 24 January 2022. The Hawks are still searching for other possible outstanding suspect(s).
