Graafwater police seize drugs estimated at R50 000-00 with the arrest of three suspects

Graafwater Police members pursued detailed information on Wednesday 14 August 2024, about a possible drug delivery destined for an identified residence which could potentially contain a consignment of mandrax tablets.

The members observed the possible route and found a motor vehicle on the R364 near Clanwilliam which matched the description provided. They stopped the vehicle and a search ensued which resulted in the recovery of a suspicious parcel. The driver indicated that the parcel was destined for delivery in Sifra Street in Graafwater.

Upon arrival at the mentioned address the members found two occupants, a man and a woman, inside the residence who were both arrested upon receipt of the parcel, together with the driver who delivered the suspicious parcel. The members proceeded to the SAPS office where they inspected the parcel in the presence of the three suspects. They then discovered that the parcel contained 990 mandrax tablets with an estimated value of R50 000.00.

The 27-year-old woman and two males, aged 32 and 39, will appear in the Clanwilliam Magistrates’ Court, once charged for dealing in drugs.
