Panel discussion on the impact of Covid-19 on persons with disabilities
Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) and the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD) are hosting a virtual panel discussion to unpack the impact of COVID-19 on persons with disabilities in South Africa.
The panel will also discuss the research findings on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on persons with disabilities report by the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights Regional Office for Southern Africa. The report was commissioned by the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities.
The discussion is also part of public engagements taking place during Disability Rights Awareness Month which commenced on 3 November 2021 under the theme “The Year of Charlotte Mannya Maxeke – Create and Realise an Inclusive Society Upholding Rights of Persons with Disabilities”.
