Gauteng Police Seize Illicit Goods Worth R1.7 Million in Randburg.

Randburg: Gauteng Police have conducted a counterfeit goods operation, where they seized 869 illicit and counterfeit goods worth R1 795 000. On Wednesday, the Gauteng Visible Policing Team that deals with counterfeit and illicit goods, together with brand protectors, conducted an operation in Randburg in the Johannesburg District.

According to South African Government News Agency, three suspects were arrested for dealing with counterfeit and illicit goods. The police seized a total of 896 illicit and counterfeit goods, including illicit clothing, shoes, watches, and cellphone accessories valued at R1 795 000.

The arrested suspects will appear before the Magistrate’s Court soon. The operation demonstrates the police’s commitment to safeguarding the community from counterfeit goods and protecting consumers from substandard products.
