MPUMALANGA – Sunday Corneluis Ugweuezea (40) was remanded in custody by the Hendrina District Court today, 4 February 2022 after he was arrested by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation based in Secunda assisted by Witbank Crime Intelligence from his hiding place at Klip street in Middelburg for possession and dealing in drugs.

Ugweuezea was detained on a warrant of arrest issued by the Hendrina District court in September 2017. The arrest followed information received about a wanted suspect who was sought for possession and dealing in drugs. The accused was previously arrested and he was released on bail but never returned to court.

The case was postponed to 9 February 2022 for formal bail application.
