Free MyCiTi shuttle service to the CTICC Vaccination Centre of Hope

The service will operate today, 1 December 2021, tomorrow, and on 3 December 2021.

The City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Transport, Councillor Rob Quintas, went on a drive-along to launch the free MyCiTi shuttle service that is operating between the Golden Acre Bus Terminus in Strand Street via the drop-and-go area outside the MyCiTi Civic Centre station on Hertzog Boulevard, and the Vaccination Centre of Hope at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). The service will operate today, 1 December 2021, tomorrow, and on 3 December 2021.

The service will operate as follows:

the buses will run every 10 minutes in both directions

the first bus will depart from the Golden Acre at 07:30

the last bus will depart from the CTICC at 16:10.

‘The buses are clearly marked with posters on the front to make it easy for commuters to identify them and I encourage all commuters to take full advantage of this free service and get vaccinated so that we can all build resilience against this deadly virus, especially in light of the new wave. I also want to remind commuters to continue to comply with the Covid-19 health and safety protocols. These include the wearing of a mask at all times, practicing a safe distance, and sanitising hands as often possible while traveling,’ said Councillor Quintas.

Residents and commuters can or phone the Transport Information Centre on 0800 65 64 63. The TIC operates 24/7 and the call is free from any phone, should they need more information.
