FREE STATE – Members of Provincial Anti-Gang Unit followed up information on suspects having firearms in N1 New Stands in Thabong.

On 09 February 2022 at about 11:30 SAPS members received information about firearms at an informal settlement and followed up on the information. The premises was searched and a 38 Special handgun with four live ammunitions was recovered.

Four suspects aged 28, 29 and 32 were arrested for possession of an illegal firearm, ammunition and for not having proper documentation to be in South Africa. They will soon appear in Welkom Magistrate Court.
