DURBAN – On 29 September 2022, police responded to a report of a vehicle that was identified to be used in shoplifting that was committed at La Lucia.
It is alleged that on the said day at 12:15, the suspects were involved in shoplifting at a mall in La Lucia. When they were approached by a security official, they struck him with a vehicle and damaged the boom gate as they fled the scene. Charges of attempted murder, shoplifting and malicious damage to property are investigated by Durban North SAPS.
The vehicle with four occupants, two men and two women was spotted by the security personnel at a hotel parking lot in Durban. Police were immediately alerted and it was established that the suspects were residing in a hotel situated in Durban CBD. Four suspects aged between 28 and 35 were placed under arrest. A stolen coffee machine was found in the suspects possession. They will be appearing before the Durban Magistrate’s Court this morning.
