BLOEMFONTEIN – The SAPS Tactical Response Team members operationalized information that has led to the arrest of four suspects and the discovery of a body buried in a shallow grave in Bergman.
On Tuesday, 15 March 2022, at about 19:00, members working together with Crime intelligence followed up on information and proceeded to Bergman in Mangaung, where a 39-year-old suspect was arrested.
His arrest led to the discovery of a decomposing body buried in a shallow grave inside a shack at the back of an RDP house. Forensic experts were summoned to the scene. The body of a 60-year-old woman was discovered under a concrete slab.
Preliminary investigations made it possible for police to arrest 3 more suspects including a 54-year-old female.
The four suspects aged between 30 and 54 were arrested for murder and will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court soon.
Post-mortem results will enable the investigation team to determine the cause of death and will also assist in the positive identification of the deceased.
