On 9 November 2021 Msinsini Detectives successfully arrested four suspects aged between 18 and 36 for murder and theft of motor vehicles.
It is alleged that on 7 November 2021 at 05:00 police received a report of a murder at Nyangwini. On their arrival at the scene police found the body of a 53-year-old female victim with strangulation marks on her neck and an open wound on her forehead. The victim was declared dead on the scene. A case of murder was opened at the Hibberdene SAPS.
On 8 November 2021 police investigations led to the arrest of a suspect in the Yangweni Location, uMtwalume. In the early hours this morning the remaining three suspects were traced and arrested at C-Section in Umlazi. They are detained at Scottburgh SAPS and are set to appear in the Umzumbe Magistrate’s Court tomorrow on charges of murder and theft of motor vehicles.
