This morning at 09:30, police officers from the Durban Flying Squad received information from a tracking company about a vehicle that was hijacked in Pietermaritzburg.
The vehicle was reported to be travelling on the N3 freeway towards Durban. The vehicle was spotted and intercepted near the M13 on ramp. With the assistance of the K9 Unit, four suspects aged between 19 and 25 were placed under arrest. Two knives were found inside the vehicle.
The investigation revealed that the vehicle was hijacked at Sweetwaters in Pietermaritzburg this morning. The suspects are expected to appear before the Durban Magistrates Court tomorrow for possession of a stolen vehicle.
