On Sunday 11 August 2024 at about 08:30, the members reacted to information regarding possible stock theft that took place in the Bloemspruit area. A suspected vehicle, a Toyota Tazz, was pulled over and in the vehicle, police found two sheep in the boot of the vehicle and one on the passenger seat. Four men, aged between 24 and 65, in the vehicle were arrested.

Members from the Bloemfontein Flying Squad together with the Bloemfontein Stock Theft and Endangered Species Unit, followed up on further information, which took them to a house in the Pieter Swartz area, where seven more sheep were found.

Police seized the Toyota Tazz as well as a Venter trailer that were used in the commission of the crime.
