OSHAKATI: Legendary football player Philemon ‘Kaskas’ Angula died on Monday at his home near Ondangwa.

He was 49 years old.

The Namibian Police Force’s Oshana Region crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Frederick Ndjadila, confirmed to Nampa on Monday that Angula was discovered deceased at around 12h00 at Indangungu village.

‘He was found dead in the bathroom of his house, where he collapsed and died,’ Ndjadila said.

He indicated that the deceased was not suffering from any illness.

Ndjadila stated that Angula was reportedly last seen at work in the Oniipa area on Friday, and he did not show up for work on Monday, even though he had taken a work vehicle home, which was found parked at his residence. All calls to him went unanswered, prompting his supervisor to visit his home, where his body was discovered.

Angula was a legend for both the Brave Warriors and Oshakati City and was part of the famous Brave Warriors Class of ’98 squad. He later coached northern outfits Ongwediva City and Yo
ung Chiefs in the Namibia Premier League.

Ndjadila said no foul play is suspected and Angula’s next of kin have been informed of his death.

The body was taken to the Oshakati police mortuary.

Police investigations into the matter continue.
