Five behind bars as police remove drugs off the street

THABA NCHU – Five suspects are behind bars for allegedly dealing in drugs.

Selosesha Tactical Response Team conducted a covert operation through conducting way lays around Thaba Nchu Central Business District. This operation came as a result of drugs being sold around the town to youngsters.

After police have gathered enough information during the way lays they decided to pounce on the alleged drug dealers.

On Thursday, 06 January 2022 at about 11:00, police went to the identified spots around the CBD and managed to apprehend five suspects aged between 27 and 50 for allegedly dealing in dagga and drugs.

Police managed to confiscate 82 packets of dagga, five crystal meth and 11 khat tablets.

The apprehended suspects will appear before Thaba Nchu Magistrates’ Court soon.

Police urge community members to continue working together to remove drugs off the street.
