Farm owner fatally shot, son injured during a house robbery

KINKELBOS – Police are searching for at least three armed men who were allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of a 55-year-old farm owner, and injuring his son following the invasion of their farm house outside Kinkelbos last night.

 

On Sunday, 05 September 2021 at about 18:40, police were summoned to a scene of house robbery on the farm near route R72 towards Alexandria. At the scene, a 55-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound in the upper body and was declared dead, and his 30-year-old son, who was also allegedly shot during the attack sustained a gunshot wound in the upper body. The injured son and his mother with unknown injuries were rushed to the nearest hospital. At this stage, the details of the alleged incident are sketchy. Police are investigating a case of murder with additional charges of attempted murder and house robbery for further investigation.
