Employment And Labour’s UIF takes services to the people in the Northern Cape

The Department of Employment and Labour through its Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) in the Northern Cape will take services closer to the people of Marchand, Augrabies and Kakamas during the last week of February and first week of March 2023.

“The initiative is especially aimed at seasonal farm workers who got retrenched from farms in the district of Marchand, Augrabies and Kakamas and therefore urgently needed their UIF benefits”, says Mr. Zolile Albanie, Chief Director: Provincial Operations in the Northern Cape.

The services to be provided include taking UIF applications, claims assessment, processing of payments and resolving UIF enquiries.

Other services such as Public Employment Services (PES) will also be available. Unemployed people can bring their CV’s and ID’s to be captured on the system for potential work placement.

Other documents that clients must also bring include completed UI-19 forms, salary schedule, proof of residence and bank stamped UI-2.8 forms
