Employment and Labour on speeding up progress of claims

UIF implores clients to utilise the u-Filling system to speed up the progress of claims

The Department of Employment and Labour in Limpopo has today 24 November 2022 taken services to the people in Giyani, Ga-Mokwakwaila village.

The purpose of the outreach is to reach out to clients who have to drive more than 50 km to get services from Giyani Labour Centre.

Deputy Director Labour Centre Operations, Gladstone Mathabathe informed the gathering that the Department was there to offer services such as registering and approving Unemployment Insurance Fund and Compensation of Injuries and Disease claims as well as attending to inquiries from clients concerning Departmental services.

“Our officials will be assisting clients with applying via the u-Filling system to speed up the progress of their claims.

Mathabathe said the Department has a database called Employment Service of South Africa, where work seekers can register their CVs for possible work opportunities “.

He encouraged the youth to bring forth their CVs to be registered on the database adding that they are using the system to help curb the high rate of unemployment in South Africa.

Mathabathe called on former Assistant Teachers to take advantage of such events and apply for UIF as their contracts have ended. He said in the past few months most of the applicants submitted incorrect and incomplete forms which has resulted in delays of finalisation of claims.

“It is disheartening to have to turn unemployed clients back home due to incomplete documentation, I am pleading with principals to complete the forms correctly and consult with the department where there is uncertainty”.

The outreach is still underway today until 16h00.
