Employment and Labour to hold an employer advocacy session – Limpopo province
The Public Employment Services (PES) in Limpopo, is scheduled to hold an employer advocacy session. The session will share information on services offered by PES and Labour Activation Programme(LAP).
PES plays a major role in employment promotion and employment preservation as well as assisting employers and work seekers to adjust to changing labour market conditions.
The purpose of the sitting is to get buy-in from employers with regards to vacancies that they have or might have in future, form collaborations and open a networking opportunity between the Department and its stakeholders.
Employers will also be granted an opportunity to engage interactively with departmental officials to map a way forward and will be provided with clarity on questions relating to PES/LAP.
Furthermore, PES has an electronic database called the Employment Services of South Africa (ESSA) which matches job seekers with available job opportunities for placement purposes.
Deputy Director: Public Employment Services Maggie Molala said, “our services are free and we have officials in all local municipalities who are ready to assist employers to navigate the system as working together will assist to eradicate unemployment in the province”.
